The economic crisis in Donbass (1917-1922)

Abstract

This article is devoted to study of aspects the economic crisis  on territory of Donbas in the period of Civil war (1917-1920) and attempt of his overcoming in 1921-1922. A new source is entered in a scientific sphere - materials of final continuous census of population 1923. Author used works of well-known economists of the first fourth of ХХ of century L. Liberman, R. Arskiy [3, 4, 5]. Author underlines that in connection with World War First, to the Donetsk pool the special requirements were produced, mining increased therefore. During the events of Civil war different factors influenced on development of coal industry of Donbass. Undoubtedly, certain changes took place in skilled composition of workers. In connection with objective reasons, the indexes of the labour of miner productivity go down. The period of 1920 becomes a record for Donbass on falling of mining. In the separate districts of edge on work the shelves of Donbass Labour Army, that tested complications in providing a clothing, shoe, are put in mines.
